The ol' Corellian Eclipse manoeuvre !
29th January 2011 |
The space battle above Kessel continues apace, with many casualties on both sides. General Han Solo and Commander Wedge Antilles have boldly elected to carry out their 'Corellian Eclipse' manoeuvre against a vast Star Destroyer, having devised it against Weequay pirates over Sriluur. The tactic involves two ships flying so close to each other that they are 'seen' as one, then at the last moment, splitting apart to fire upon two or more targets ! |
Han dives the Falcon down and alongside the imposing starboard wall of the massive Imperial battle cruiser, with Wedge hot on his heels. |
|
Unbeknownst to them, four TIE fighters spot their vector, and race in after them : one opens fire, and scores a lucky shot on the underside of the Falcon ! The shields take the brunt, but the patchwork welds suffer a battering ! |
|
EDITOR'S NOTE : Scott and I reviewed this sequence recently, and edited the action and dialogue to improve the vulnerability and tension.... improving it hopefully for the better :o)) |
You can see the VE artwork in the 'Kessel' art gallery as well as in the online illustrated story, and you can discuss this in the forum here ! |

The Official Site recently provided two promotion trailers for upcoming hardback presentational books : 'Star Wars Frames' is a collection of enlarged crisp frames handpicked by George Lucas to promote the six episodes, illustrating story or composition of the Saga as a whole ; 'The Jedi Path' is a fictional 'journal' as written by several esteemed Master Jedi describing and illustrating the art of the Force. Both are intruiging and unusual to say the least, and naturally fairly expensive, but they could end up on someone's shelf as treasured tomes ! |
The Clone Wars Season 3 is well underway, what with the zabrak sabre-wielding villain Savage Oppress recently. Now it looks like the nature of the Force and the Prophecy of the Chosen One is going to be explored in detail in a story arc beginning with 'Overlords', and under the creative direction of Lucas himself ! Also, Liam Neeson and Pernilla August returned to the Saga to provide voices for their ghostly characters. Unfortunately, residing in the UK, I have been unable to watch Season 3 online, and have to await the dvd release ; in fact, I have recently purchased Season 2 on dvd, and look forward to watching that for the first time soon ! :o) |

Finally, I am pleased to announce the safe arrival in mid January of a second padawan.... Flora ! |
|
Here she is in daddy's arms.... and daddy is now desperately wondering how to juggle the VE with Life and a two and a half year old and a newborn !!! LOL ! |
