Looking at the Hutts of Nal Hutta.
24th June 2006 |
Now that Life is settling down into a post-wedding 'normality' for me, Scott and I are re-focusing our efforts with the Virtual Edition Sequel Trilogy, and with the opening seventh episode in particular. |
This episode shows the Hutts in a new light as we visit their home world of Nal Hutta and find them in a tragic predicament. |
Scott and I have been creating artwork to help illustrate this new world and culture that we're only familiar with from Jabba's palace on Tatooine. From the point of view of the lore, how far was the architecture of the building and the barge skiffs particularly Tatooinian or was it Hutt inspired ? |
We've elected to opt for the latter, and have 'scouted' locations in South East Asia for inspiration. We felt that both the rounded architecture of the temples and buildings as well as the goldleaf plating leant themselves towards the full and opulent nature of the gangster Hutts. Nal Hutta will turn out to be a major location in Episode VII, with revelations and insights that will affect the Skywalker Twins and the Galactic Alliance. |
As we continue to develop artwork to help illustrate the exotic world of the Hutts, the following pieces provide a glimpse into the VE-ST. Please click on a thumbnail image below to open up a larger version. |

Nal Hutta will hopefully be a memorable world ! |
In other news, the Official Site has announced details of a Darth Plagueis novel that promises, like the Darth Bane novel, to illuminate this shadowy character ! |
