| As King Oxus reveals details to Han and the others of the disappearance of his niece and the Galactic Alliance representatives, he hands around a charred piece of metal that was found at the ambush site. |
| The droids, Artoo-Detoo and See-Threepio, concur that they do not recognise the machined piece from any known manufactured droids. When they pass the metal nozzle to Leia, she is struck by its familiarity to Imperial designs for interrogation and probe droids. |

| Leia passes the item to her husband, who is at first equally puzzled. When Han lifts the metal tube to his nose and sniffs, he identifies what he thinks are traces of Kessellian spice on the rim of the opening. He makes the connection that the Hutts could be involved too, and in league with the Imperials, and announces that the Falcon's analysers will confirm if it's spice. |
