And in time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as : THE SON OF THE SUN.

Introducing the galaxy at the time of the
virtual edition Episode XI

28th February 2023
It's been a slow progress, but I've been pulling together a variety of concepts for my virtual edition Episode XI. Combining long-held ideas and existing plans for characters and plot, and introducing original thoughts, it's been difficult ensuring that there are sufficient 'action' sequences bearing in mind the tone of the episode, partly affected by the chosen timeframe, would be in setting up the 'state of the galaxy'.

I've settled on a time jump of about 5 or 6 years after the events of Episode X The Riddle of the Pirates. Although piracy is still present and the criminal underworld continues to undertake their sly agendas, the infamous Troig Gang appears to have been wiped out by the Jedi and the PA navy at the proto-system, Sucal. The Imperial Remnant, led by Governor Tagge, has outwardly appeared to focus their efforts on rebuilding a quiet life for themselves and their colonies, and have avoided any conflict and strife.

However, the elderly Mon Mothma has retired from her position of Presidency, citing old age and exhaustion. The beloved and popular leader has been replaced by an ex-military general, known for a more overt hard-line stance, and who now desires to all but crush the Imperial Remnant to punish them for their legacy, and to humiliate and subjugate a potential enemy.

Perhaps it's a wise pre-emptive move, for Governor Tagge, of course, has been developing some of the weapons found in Palpatine's secret research facility that had been re-discovered at the time of the Troig Gang's exploits. Now that the piracy on refugee convoys has been halted, Tagge does not have such an easy resource for slave labour ; this has reduced his capability in building warships and TIE fighters, and delayed his plans for counter-attacks. However, his scientists have been able to develop Palpatine's 'hyper bomb', and once fully working, Tagge is sure to have the Galaxy under his complete control. Furthermore, he has authorised the construction of lightsabre-wielding war droids that will present an equal match against the accursed Jedi Knights, now fully established as protectors once more of the Galactic citizens.

General Han Solo has been tasked by the Pan-Alliance military intelligence to discover why their starfighters have been disappearing from repair garages. His wife, Leia, has been honing her new-found seer-journeying powers to complement his investigations ; however, she has also been suffering from intensely realistic visions that might bring an answer to the mystery of her father's conception. Han and Leia now have four children, and the two oldest, Gana and Corsa, about thirteen standard years old, have unsurprisingly developed a secret hobby of participating in illegal drag races in the low levels of Coruscant. Their younger siblings are not immune to certain passions and drives either.

The rate of new-born Force sensitives has continued to erupt across the star systems, and Luke and his Jedi Masters have welcomed all to the Temple on Coruscant and to the satellite academies scattered across the galaxy. But Luke is plagued by the responsibility of guiding such younglings, and seeks further guidance from the Force in how to reconcile the old ways of no familial attachments with what his own legacy has brought him, as well as his deep-seated belief that retaining family connections is beneficial for the new padawans. He is certain the answers he seeks lie in the history of the Jedi.

The illustrated virtual edition of Episode VII : Plague of Doom continues, and Commander Kane's Star Destroyer deploys the nefarious gasdroids onto Ondos.
